The
college offers three years under graduate courses both in Science
and Arts faculty leading to Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Bachelor
of Arts (B.A.) degrees. Besides these degree courses, the college
also has two years Higher Secondary courses in both the faculties.
There is provision for the students to opt for Major courses in

Arts faculty : Students of General course will

II excluding the compulsory subjects, i.e. General English and
M.I.L./Alternative English. Students of Major course will have
to continue only the Major subject.
Science faculty : Students of General course
will have to choose any two subjects out of the three subjects
offered in Part II. Students of Major course will have to continue
only the Major subject.
HIGHER
SECONDARY COURSE :
This is a vital part of academic activities in the colleges of
Assam, though it is not included in the academic activities defined
by the U.G.C.
Course of Study :
The Higher Secondary (H.S.) course under Assam Higher Secondary
Education Council is of two years duration. At the end of the
first year, there will be an examination under the council. After
successful completion of the said examination, a student is allowed
to appear in the H.S. Final examination at the end of the Second
Year.
Combination
of Subjects :
In +2 stage for both Arts and Science faculties, English and M.I.L.
(Assamese)/Alt. English are compulsory subjects. In addition,
a student of Arts faculty has to study three more subjects taking
not more than one subject from the following groups. If desired,
a fourth subject may be offered as an additional subject.
