Library
facility :
The college provides computer aided library and reading room facilities
to the students as well as teachers. The college library has at
present about 27000 books and a good number of journals. A student
can avail the library, reading room & reference room facilities
any time during the working hours of the college.
Reprographic facility is also available in the library. The college
has book bank facility for the needy and deserving students.
The functioning and use of the library by the teachers and students
are governed by a set of library rules.
Students'
aid fund :
Financial assistance is granted to the poor students out of the
students' aid fund. Such grants are given to the poor and meritorious
students on the basis of their application to the principal and
subjects to the availability of fund.
Scholarships
/ Awards :
Deserving students can enjoy the benefits of various Central and
State Government Scholarships such as National Merit Scholarship,
State Merit Scholarship, Scholarships to Char area students and
ITDP sponsored SC/ ST/OBC/MOBC Scholarships.
Apart from the above scholarships, the college offers the following
aids and supports :
(i) Waiving of full tuition fee for one year for those students
who secure first position in the 1st year H.S., T.D.C. I and T.D.C
II Examinations faculty wise every year.
(ii) A cash prize and a certificate are awarded to each of the
students securing the highest marks in H.S.(Arts) and H.S.(Sc.)
Final Examnation in the college each year (Sponsored by Goalpara
College Teachers' Association).
(iii) A cash prize and a certificate are awarded to each of the
students securing the highest marks in Degree(Arts) and Degree(Sc.)
Part III (1+1+1) Examination in the college each year (Sponsored
by Goalpara College Teachers' Association).
N.C.C.,
N.S.S. and Scouts and Guides :
The college
has units of N.C.C., N.S.S. and Scouts and Guides.N.C.C. cadets
are imparted training under the guidance of a trained N.C.C. officer.
The volunteers of N.S.S. render social service both inside and
outside the college under the guidance of the N.S.S. Programme
Co-ordinator. Hostel
facilities : Separate
hostel facilities are there for boys and girls. Since the numbers
of seats in the hostels are limited, therefore allotment of seats
in the hostels is made strictly on the basis of merit. Additional
